In a heated 13th match, of the Champions T20 Cup, the Panthers have lived up to their reputation as they defeated a losing streak weaver Dolphins. The match which took place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium saw a dismal outing for the Dolphins as they were bagged for 106 runs in their innings. 

However, Mohammad Wasim Jr. played a crucial role in dismantling the batting lineup of the Dolphins especially gifting a spectacle for the audience, when he castled skipper Faheem Ashraf and the stumps went flying. Helpless Faheem was only left swinging the bat in the air.

Wasim Jr. Castles A Resilient Faheem Ashraf

In the first ball of the 19th over when the Dolphins were nearing the close of their innings, Ashraf was sent back to the sheds with an absolute stunner of a ball from Mohammad Wasim Jr. Coming in round the wicket, Wasim pitched a good length delivery aiming straight for the stumps. Ashraf who misjudged the ball attempted a slog pull over the long leg.

However, Ashraf missed the ball and it hit the off stump sending the wicket flying. Ashraf walked back to the pavilion being the third scalp of Wasim in the game. Nevertheless, the southpaw scored a modest 25 off 34 as he bagged a single boundary and a single six.

Panthers Crush Low-Spirited Dolphins 

Speaking of the match, it was a forgettable day for the Dolphins as they were sent to bat first and couldn't utilize the opportunity enough. Amad Butt (12-2), Arafat Minhas (11-2), and Wasim Jr. (28-3) wreaked havoc with the ball.

Sahibzada Farhan and Mohammad Huraira were sent for a duck by Ali Raza and Butt respectively. Mirza Baig also failed to impress with the bat. The only notable contributions came from the skipper Ashraf and Mohammad Akhlaq, who helped the team reach a mere total of 106 runs.

Coming in to chase, the Panthers also started off shakily but were stabilized by Abdul Wahid Bangalzai's 51 off 38. Later, Danish Aziz (38 off 34) steered the chase with Arafat Minhas (11 off 6) to seal the 6-wicket victory for Panthers with a boundary in the last ball of the 15th over.
