The ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2023-24 Final between Sydney Sixers and Brisbane Heat at Sydney Cricket Ground apart from being all about bragging rights, is also the last appearance for former Australia's bowler Steve O'Keefe.

Playing for Sixers, O'Keefe featured in his final BBL outing with the ball and exhibited his class for one final time against Heat, claiming one wicket in his four-over quota and giving just 26 runs, whereas Brisbane managed 166.

O'Keefe started his spell with a three-run over, however, went for 10 in his second, which also had two fours. In his second spell, O'Keefe went for six in his third over, and then in his final over of BBL managed to claim Josh Brown's wicket, ending with figures of 1 for 26.

After his spell, the 39-year-old received a standing ovation from a jam-packed SCG, where the all-rounder played all his BBL cricket.

Having first played for the Sixers in 2011-12, O'Keefe ends his BBL bowling career with 99 wickets in 103 appearances. Handy with the bat, O'Keefe has scored 400 runs in 40 innings and will have one more innings to add to his tally.

The player won as many as three BBL titles ( 2011-12, 2019-20, and 2020-21) apart from also winning the now defunct Champions League Twenty20 in 2012-13.
