Brisbane Heat opener Josh Brown completed a 41-ball hundred against Adelaide Strikers in the Challenger of the ongoing BBL 2023-24 season. The cricketer blasted a six off Strikers' spinner Cameron Boyce over extra cover to reach the landmark figure, and his whirlwind ton marked the second-fastest century in BBL history.

Brown shared 119 runs with captain Nathan McSweeney and another 65 runs with silent spectator Matt Renshaw as Heat blazed past the 200-run mark inside the first 17 overs of their innings.

Josh Brown notches record BBL knock

Brisbane Heat opening batsman Josh Brown bludgeoned Cameron Boyce for his ninth six of the innings to bring up his century from just 41 balls at the Carrara Oval.

The cricketer launched the Striker's spinner over extra cover and belted him for another six a couple of deliveries later in the same over.

The innings marked the first T20 ton of Josh Brown's career and is also the first century by any batter in this year's BBL 2023-24 season. Moreover, his 41-ball whirlwind ton became the second-fastest century in the history of BBL.

Strikers' new-ball bowler David Payne eventually dismissed Josh Brown in the 17th over of the innings. The explosive opening batsman ended up listing 140 runs from just 57 balls, with ten boundaries and 12 sixes to his name.

His six-hitting spree from the Challenger evening also helped him attain the record of hitting the highest number of maximums in a single BBL innings. Brown's blitz eventually powered Brisbane Heat to a monumental 214-7 off their 20 overs.
