Virat Kohli once again fell after attempting to cover drive in a Test match. The talismanic batter, who has received heavy criticism from everyone across the world for repeating the same mistake again and again, did the same thing on Monday as well when India and Australia met on Day 5 in the Boxing Day Test match at MCG.

Just before the lunch break, Mitchell Starc tried to tempt Kohli by bowling a full delivery outside the off stump at full length. Kohli got trapped, trying to play a gorgeous drive only to get an edge. Placed at first slip, Usman Khawaja took an excellent low catch and he, as well as Starc, brought out a roaring celebration to enjoy the moment.

Chasing 340, Kohli had a job to steady the ship after India lost KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma in quick succession. However, he failed to deliver, while Yashasvi Jaiswal remained not out as the only batter before everyone went for a lunch break.


India In Trouble After Three Blows

Meanwhile, India went to lunch after 33/3, still requiring 307 more runs to win in the remaining two sessions. Australia are favourites to win this match as things stand, but don't be surprised if India turn things around just like what they did at The Gabba in 2020/21 tour. If they want to repeat the same, the likes of Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Nitish Reddy must produce a miracle.
