India's experienced batter KL Rahul had another poor outing at number three, as Australian captain Pat Cummins dismissed him with a beauty in the ongoing fourth Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Rahul, who joined Yashasvi Jaiswal after Rohit Sharma's dismissal, was caught behind for a five-ball duck during the run-chase on day five. 

KL Rahul vs Pat Cummins: As The Battle Panned Out

Australian captain Pat Cummins was high on confidence after getting Rohit Sharma's prized scalp in the 17th over. Rohit, who frustrated the hosts with dodged resistance, eventually made his way back to the dugout as Cummins ended his 40-ball stay with a magnificent delivery. 

The home team skipper initially kept Rahul under the pump, bowling four consecutive dot balls to him. His accuracy eventually weaved magic for the hosts, as he got rid of Rahul to conclude the eventful over. 

How Did Pat Cummins Bamboozle KL Rahul In MCG Test?

Pat Cummins outfoxed India's in-form batter KL Rahul with subtle variations in angles, accuracy and seam movement. Interestingly, the fast bowler dismissed Rahul in the first innings with an absolute ripper. From over the wicket, Cummins angled the ball into Rahul, who missed it completely as the ball shaped away from him after pitching, uprooting his off stump. 

The Australian great did otherwise to get KL Rahul in the second innings. This time, he pulled his length slightly back and pitched the ball around the corridor of uncertainty, playing with Rahul's mind. 

The Indian batter, who is hailed for mastering the art of leaving the ball, was in two minds and couldn't shoulder his arms before the delivery came into him with the angle and flew off his outside edge to the slip cordon. Thus, basically, Cummins won the mind game against Rahul, proving his mettle at the highest level for the umpteenth time.
