The Melbourne Cricket Ground broke records and this time, not in cricket. The iconic ground registered a massive crowd in the ongoing Test match. After the first three days of the series, the ground recorded 299,329 attendance and the number of crowds has grown. And now, at the time of writing this, the crowd has gone up to 350, 700, something which never happened before across five days in a Test match before.

This incredible turnout has now surpassed the 2013 Ashes match between Australia and England. As the fifth day begins, Melbourne welcomes a sea of crowds. As day 5 started, the MCG was packed with spectators to witness the thrilling clash.

India Two Down Already

With a huge pressure on mind, Team India came to bat in the second innings. While opening the innings, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal provided a steady start. But the game took a dramatic turn in the 17th over as Australian skipper Pat Cummins led the attack while sending back Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in the same over. Those consecutive wickets piled the pressure, shifting the momentum in the host’s favor.
