Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Travis Head for 6.8 crore in the IPL 2024 auction after his exploits against India in the World Cup 2023 final. However, his form off-late has not been great and in the first T20I against the Kiwis, he once again could not get a big score and departed for 24 off 15 balls.

New Zealand posted 215 while batting first at Wellington and Australia needed a good start to their chase. Head did start positively as he normally does, but could not convert his start. Adam Milne with a 143.1 kph delivery, that was short of length, and around off outfoxed Travis Head.

Head tried to pull it but got a big top edge that went high in the air behind mid on. Tim Southee though kept his eyes on the ball, ran back and took a brilliant catch that ended Aussie opener's run.

Travis Head has been brilliant for Australia across formats and his aggressive strokeplay has been the x-factor, especially in ODI and Test format.

He would be itching to replicate his form in the coming T20Is and IPL as T20 World Cup 2024 is just around the corner.
