Royal Challengers Bangalore's all-rounder Sophie Molineux proved to be the ace up her team's sleeve during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 final against Delhi Capitals Women at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Sophie Molineux, already making waves with her impeccable bowling, once again grabbed the limelight with a sensational fielding display that led to the runout of Radha Yadav. It all happened in the 17th over when Radha Yadav, in a bid to pinch a risky single, found herself at the wrong end of Molineux's sharp fielding instincts.

Yadav, nudged back by her partner after an initial dash, struggled to make ground as Molineux, stationed at backward point, swooped in quickly, her throw smashing into the stumps with pinpoint accuracy. To add insult to injury, Yadav's bat slipped from her grasp, sealing her fate and further deepening the woes for Delhi Capitals Women.

Earlier in the match, Molineux had already left a massive mark, derailing Delhi's innings by claiming three crucial wickets in a single over. 

She initiated it by dismantling a promising 64-run opening stand that brought RCB-W back into the game after the home team’s early assault. Her heroics with the ball had already set the tone, reducing the Capitals to a dismal position.

Meanwhile, as the match progressed, Delhi Capitals Women were bowled out for just 113 in 18.3 overs with Shreyanka Patil being the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/12 from her 3.3 overs. 

It will be interesting to see if Delhi bowlers can unleash their magic and stop RCB-W from chasing this paltry total.
