Sophie Devine is a legend of the game, and after toiling hard for years, she finally got her reward on October 20th when White Ferns won their first T20 World Cup trophy. It was surely a moment to be proud of and she truly deserved it. However, she made a big blunder in the first ODI against India at the Narendra Modi stadium and it would go down as one of the most strange run out in the history of the game.

It was the last delivery of the 12th over and Deepti Sharma tossed up a delivery, around off. Sophie Devine ran down the track and defended it back to the bowler. Deepti Sharma collected the ball and threaten to throw the ball towards Devine. It did not go well with the New Zealand skipper and she stood at her position looking at the bowler in her eyes, inviting her to throw the ball.

Deepti Sharma Shows Great Presence Of Mind

Deepti Sharma though did not let emotions get the better of her and threw the ball to the keeper, Yastika Bhatia and she whipped the bails off in a flash. It caught Sophie Devine off-guard and Indian players started celebrating. The relays rolled in, and it clearly displayed that Devine's leg was out of the crease.

The big screen flashed 'OUT' and Sophie Devine was left stunned as she walked off the field. Indian players, on the other hand, were overjoyed as Devine has the ability to win the game for her side single-handedly and her wicket dented New Zealand's chance of chasing down the target of 229.

Earlier, Deepti Sharma contributed with the bat as well, scoring crucial 41 runs coming down the order and her partnership with Tejal Hasabnis took India to a competitive total.
