Suryakumar Yadav's brilliant fielding performance left everyone in awe during the T20 World Cup 2024 semifinal against England at the Providence Stadium on June 27.

India, having posted a formidable target of 172, was riding high as they sent half of the England team back to the pavilion early in their innings.

The standout moment came in the 16th over when Hardik Pandya bowled a slower ball, short of a length on the middle stump. Adil Rashid, playing on the back foot, closed his bat face early, attempting to turn the ball to the leg side.

However, he got a leading edge that looped to the left of short mid-wicket. Rashid called for a single.

In a display of sheer brilliance, Suryakumar Yadav, stationed at short mid-wicket, reacted swiftly. He ran to his left, collected the ball on the bounce, and executed a precise underarm throw with his left hand.

The throw hit the stumps directly at the bowler's end, catching Rashid short of his ground despite a desperate dive. The umpire immediately raised his finger, signaling Rashid's run-out.

This moment of extraordinary fielding exemplified Suryakumar's sharp reflexes and accuracy, significantly contributing to India's dominance. Eventually, England were bowled out for 103 in 16.3 overs, handing India a convincing victory by 68 runs.
