You don’t often see Steve Smith lose concentration while at the crease in Test cricket. However, the rare incident happened on Sunday when India and Australia were up against each other in the Boxing Day Test match at MCG.

More importantly, Smith lost the plot moments after he made a gesture to silence Mohammed Siraj. Eventually, the Indian speedster got the wicket of Smith, and it made the scenes even more cinematic.

Siraj Spits Venom After Steve Smith's Wicket

Batting on 13, Smith tried to play a drive to punish a half-volley bowled by Siraj.  However, all he could do is to get a faint edge before Rishabh Pant completed a regulation catch to send him back to the hut. After that, Siraj was all pumped up, and rightly so.

Australia In Trouble

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah has been exceptional since the morning of Day 4. Riding on his heroics, India have slipped Australia to 93/6 at the time of writing this. Siraj, too, has picked up two important wickets, while Bumrah has got the other four wickets.

However, Australia still have a good 198-run lead at this point. Hence, Bumrah and his boys must wrap them up quickly in order to complete a gettable chase. It's not that hard, but don't be surprised if Australia's tail makes them frustrated. To make matters worse, Marnus Labuschagne is still in the middle, on 45*.
