In a thrilling T20 encounter this Friday at Dubai International Stadium, the Desert Vipers clashed with the Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 playoffs. Needing 6 runs off the final ball, the Capitals found their hero in the experienced all-rounder, Sikandar Raza, who smashed a six to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Raza, aged 37, is known for his right-handed batting and right-arm off-spin bowling.

Raza's stellar performance saw him scoring 60 runs off just 45 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes, earning him the Player of the Match award. His ability to perform under pressure and turn the game in his team's favour showcased his exceptional talent and temperament.

Batting first, the Vipers posted a competitive total of 171/7, thanks to a blazing start from Phil Salt and Alex Hales. However, a middle-order collapse prevented them from reaching a higher total. In response, the Capitals struggled early on, losing wickets quickly. But a crucial partnership between Sam Billings and Sikandar Raza revived their chase.

With 13 runs needed off the final over, the match hung in the balance. Ali Naseer bowled brilliantly, conceding only 7 runs off the first five balls.

Ali Naseer, under pressure, couldn't deliver his final ball accurately, missing the off-stump by a considerable margin. This provided Sikandar Raza with an opportunity to play a big shot. Raza adjusted to the slow delivery, moving back and powerfully lofting the ball over long-off. The ball sailed beyond the boundary line, securing a thrilling victory for the Dubai Capitals by five wickets. Raza's timely six sealed the match, prompting jubilant celebrations from his teammates who rushed onto the field, hoisting him onto their shoulders.

The win propelled the Dubai Capitals into the next stage of the ILT20 playoffs.
