[Watch] Shubman Gill Smashes Glorious 37-Ball Fifty vs PAK; Shaheen Afridi Hammered

Shubman Gill, fondly called as the Prince, has shown all his class against Pakistan in the all-important Super 4s game of the Asia Cup 2023. He made his intentions clear in just his second delivery when he flicked a full delivery from the deadly Shaheen Afridi for a boundary. He backed it up with two more boundaries in the same over and oozed confidence with his sublime timing. In the 5th over of the game, Shaheen Afridi was again on the receiving end as Gill played some glorious shots again to stun Afridi with three boundaries.

He eventually reached his fifty in just 37 balls, a knock full of flair and sheer timing, reaffirming the talent of young Indian superstar - Shubman Gill. It is his 8th fifty in ODIs, and the knock has taken India off to a flying start in a big game against a quality bowling attack of Pakistan. Rohit Sharma at the other end took some time to get going, but found his groove soon and started going after the bowling in his usual class and finesse. He got to his fifty as well.

Gill has now hit two consecutive fifties in this Asia Cup 2023 after a failure against Pakistan in the opening game. These are good signs for India and he would be looking to convert this fifty into a big hundred now. At the end of 15th over, India are 115-0 and are looking set for post a huge total on the board.
