Indian skipper Rohit Sharma came out with all guns blazing in the ongoing Asia Cup match against Pakistan, as he ensured a brisk start for his side at the iconic R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The stylish right-handed batter started his innings on a positive note, hitting a glorious six off Shaheen Afridi to conclude the first over. 

After Pakistan opted to bowl under overcast conditions, ace speedster Shaheen Afridi tested Sharma with challenging line and length, keeping him quiet in the first five deliveries.

However, the veteran opener had the last laugh, as he smashed Afridi for a glorious six in the leg side to conclude the over. 

After delivering five probing balls, Afridi sprayed down the leg side, allowing Sharma to take the aerial route. The flamboyant batter from Mumbai grabbed the opportunity with both hands, as he flicked the ball for a huge six over the square leg fence. 

Sharma's opening partner Shubman Gill also unleashed himself on the Pakistani speedster, as India got off to a flying start in this all-important clash. 

Riding on the openers' fireworks, India have raced to 37 for no loss in 5 overs, with Sharma and Gill batting on 10* and 25*, respectively.
