Led by Rohit Sharma, India got off to a magnificent start in their ongoing Asia Cup game against arch-rivals Pakistan, as Shubman Gill tore apart the Pakistani bowling unit through his scintillating stroke play. Unlike the first game, Gill batted with an aggressive approach on a tricky pitch, helping India race to 50 in the blink of an eye. However, the stylish batter from Punjab had a lucky escape, getting a lifeline when he was stranded on 30.

Contrary to expectations, ace Pakistani speedster Shaheen Afridi had a poor outing in his first spell, with Shubman Gill taking on him right from the word go. However, Naseem Shah challenged the Indian youngster with probing lines, eventually drawing an outside edge off his bat in the eighth over.

But, unfortunately for Shah, the ball flew through the slips for a boundary, as Iftikhar Ahmed and Salman Agha committing a blunder, not even attempting for a catch.

Following the survival, Gill hammered another glorious boundary off Faheem Ashraf, helping India conclude the powerplay on a high note. Both openers have provided India with an exceptional start, as the Men in Blue have raced to 61 for no loss in 10 overs, with Sharma and Gill batting on 18* and 41*, respectively.
