[Watch] Shubman Gill Hammers His 6th ODI Century; Joins Kohli, Tendulkar, Rohit In Elite List

Shubman Gill, the rising superstar of world cricket and the man who is primed to become of one the leading batters in world cricket soon, has notched up his 6th ODI hundred in just his 35th match. The man has been in stellar form in 2023 and already has scored most runs in ODI this year and just seems unstoppable at the moment. 

It is said that when you are in form, make most of it and Gill is doing exactly that at the moment. He scored 74 in the first ODI but missed out on a century but has made sure that he crosses the landmark this time around. He started off cautiously in this game and was batting on 7 off his initial 15 balls, however, he changed the gear seamlessly and in no time and he reached his fifty in just 37 balls. He got to his fifty with authoritative shot as he danced down the track to pump it down the ground and continued to flourish further after his fifty as well.

The speciality of Shubman's knock was how he mixed caution with aggression beautifully and complemented Shreyas Iyer brilliantly. When Shreyas was hitting at the other end, Gill took the backseat but made sure that he does not back down when the opportunity came calling.

Gill eventually got to his century off just 92 balls in the last delivery of the 33th over but departed in the 35th over on 104 off 97 balls. This century his Shubman Gill's 5th ODI century in a single year which has made him the 7th Indian player to score 5 or more centuries in a calendar year.
