However, Shreyas' partnership with Ajinkya Rahane proved crucial in bringing Mumbai back on track after they were reduced to 37-3. Rahane also batted brilliantly, but missed out on his century by just three runs. Sarfaraz Khan though continued the momentum built by Rahane and Shreyas and smashed a century to put Ranji Champions in a good position against a strong Rest of India team at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
