[Watch] Shreyas Iyer ‘Outfoxed’ By Rehan Ahmed’s Vicious Googly As Stokes’ Trap Succeeds

The primary plan against Shreyas Iyer has already been known by almost every person who is associated with cricket worldwide. However, on Friday, during India’s first Test against England in Hyderabad, Ben Stokes chose to outfox him a bit differently against the aggressive middle-order batsman, and guess what? The Englishman got the result he was looking for.

While everyone brings fast bowlers against Iyer to tempt him with bouncers, Stokes brought in young leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed into the attack just after the lunch break. Batting on 35 off 63 balls, Iyer went for a slog sweep but did not pick the googly bowled by Rehan.

As a result, the slog sweep did not get the distance Shreyas would have hoped, and Tom Hartley, the only man who was near the boundary line, did not move an inch to complete a simple catch.

Shreyas was absolutely disgusted with himself after holing out to Hartley, especially because he has always been good against spin bowlers, and the manner in which he fell did not look pleasing. Stokes, on the other hand, had a big smile on his face, and went on to celebrate with the bowler and others.

At the time of writing, India have reached 238/4, trailing only by eight runs after England were bowled out for 246 in the first innings.
