Shreyas Iyer is known for his aggressive batting and against spinners, he is one of the finest hitters in Indian cricket currently. In the first Test at Ahmedabad, he is once again showing his might on a turner and displayed great assurity. He hit a six off Tom Hartley in the first session of Day 2 that stamped his authority and it seems that he is on a mission to make this Test match count and go big.

Shreyas Iyer came out to bat at number 5 with India losing Shubman Gill with 159 on the board and started cautiously. Along with KL Rahul, he started building another partnership and when he got set, pressed the accelerator.

It was the 41st over where he hit his first six, Hartley, the debutant bowled it short on off. Shreyas Iyer quickly gauged the length of the delivery, went back and pulled it all the way over deep mid-wicket much to the delight of the crowd.

Both Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul then batted till the Lunch as India ended up scoring 222 runs in 50 overs with three wickets down. At Lunch on Day 2, they trailed by just 24 runs and England desperately need wickets to stay alive in this opening Test match.
