There is no one better than Jasprit Bumrah when it comes to the current bunch of players who can make a significant impact across formats. And the talismanic fast bowler delivered yet again on Thursday (January 25) during Day 1 of the first Test match between India and England, taking place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

After bowling 8.2 overs, Bumrah finished with excellent figures of 2/28. More significantly, the man with whom he put the final nail in England’s coffin was Ben Stokes, the captain of the ship.

Despite receiving little support from his teammates, Stokes showed composure against India in challenging conditions. The southpaw scored a gritty 70 before Bumrah did the job to outfox him.

As the last wicket was only remaining, Stokes was in an aggressive mood to score as many runs as possible. Hence, while facing Bumrah, he gave himself some room for an attacking shot. 

However, Bumrah knew it was coming, and therefore, he bowled a length delivery that turned away sharply from the Englishman. Stokes had no clue whatsoever how to face it before it rattled the stumps.

After that dismissal, while Bumrah had a smile on his face, Stokes made a gesture with his hands to appreciate him.
