Shardul Thakur, the man with the golden arm and who is known as a partnership breaker has stood up for India again after a blistering 65-run opening stand from Nepal. Shardul gave away 12 runs in his first over but got the wicket off the fifth ball of the 10th over and ended an entertaining knock of 38 off 25 balls from Kushal Bhurtel.

Earlier, India won the toss and decided to bowl first but Shami and Siraj who opened the bowling were let down by three dropped catches in the opening five overs. Bhurtel was dropped two times, firstly by Shreyas Iyer and then by Ishan Kishan while Aasif Sheikh was dropped by none other than Virat Kohli.

Nepal batters took full advantage of India's lacklustre effort on the field and started going after the bowlers. Bhurtel especially was brutal and smashed two sixes on the way. Shardul Thakur has brought some respite for India and bowled a lovely good-length delivery, around off. Bhurtel tried to fend it but the ball seamed away a bit and Bhurtel just tried to open the face of his bat which eventually kissed the outside edge of his blade. Ishan Kishan took an easy catch and India would hope that they can get some quick wicket now and restrict Nepal to as low as total as possible.

At the time of writing, Nepal are 69-1 at the end of 14 overs and need to continue the momentum they have gained to continue challenging India in this historic game.
