Shakib Al Hasan broke the frustrating partnership between Kane Williamson and Devon Conway on Friday in Match 11 of the World Cup 2023 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Just when fans felt the match was going out of the Tigers’ hands, the Bangladesh captain pinned Conway leg before to keep the hopes alive.

Shakib bowled skillfully to succeed, while Conway only had himself to blame for losing his wicket.

On the first ball of the 21st over, Conway tried to reverse paddle, but the quickness of the delivery did not allow him to get in the line of it. The ball went on to hit his pad, and a loud appeal came from Shakib as soon as it happened.

The on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena took a little time before raising his finger. Kane Williamson, however, had doubts in mind regarding the decision, and he convinced Conway to take DRS.

However, DRS did not help Conway to save either, as three reds came on the big screen to ensure his wicket.
