[Watch] Shaheen Afridi ‘Traps’ Tanzid Hasan Plumb In Front; Bags 100 ODI Wickets

Shaheen Afridi became the third fastest bowler to bag 100 ODI wickets on Tuesday (October 31) during Pakistan’s World Cup clash against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The 23-year-old took 51 outings to get there, with Sandeep Lamichhane (42) and Rashid Khan (44) being the only ones who took fewer matches than him.

It was a length delivery on off-stump by Shaheen which Tanzid Hasan tried to play through leg side. However, the Bangladeshi opener failed to make any connection, and thus, the ball went on to hit his pads.

A loud appeal from LBW came immediately after from Shaheen and the other Pakistani players, and the umpire raised his finger straightaway to give his verdict in their favour.

Tanzid went for a DRS, but it did not help him to survive, as the umpire’s call (during the ball tracker) allowed Shaheen to continue enjoying his success.

Shaheen, in the following over, got yet another wicket, as Najmul Hossain Shanto became the second one to bite the dust.

As of writing, Bangladesh are left reeling at 6/2 after three overs.
