Shaheen Afridi and his exploits with the new ball are well known all over the cricketing world, and the man displayed his skills again with a stunning new-ball spell against Ireland in Pakistan's final T20 World Cup 2024 encounter. He bagged two wickets in the opening over and then got the better of talented Harry Tector in his second over to put Irish boys on backfoot in Florida.

Tector's wicket was on the final delivery of his second over, when Shaheen Afridi bowled a magical yorker that swung in nicely to leave Harry Tector completely outfoxed as he tried to force it away. He missed the ball and it hit him on the pad and Shaheen Afridi made a loud appeal only to get down on his knees after the umpire raised his finger.

Ireland were reduced to 15-4 with Tector's wicket and one of those four wickets was taken by Mohammad Amir. Pakistan are out of the tournament, and so are Ireland and this game is just about pride and so far, Pakistan are looking like a team on mission, and the one that is desperate to end the tournament on a high.
