In the ongoing first ODI between India -W and South Africa- W at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the visitors are in deep trouble despite starting the game on a positive note.
India, batting first, lost five wickets for less than 100 runs, but Smriti Mandhana's century helped the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side post 265/8 on the board.
In reply, Renuka Singh did just what the doctor ordered and got rid of the South African skipper in the first over with a brilliant in-swinging delivery. In the chase, the visitors never looked comfortable and wickets fell at regular intervals.
However, Marizanne Kapp, who had a sensational season with Delhi Capitals in WPL 2024, took on Renuka Singh and put a dent in her high morale with a four and a six in the single over.
On the 3rd ball of the 19th over, Kapp, first, smashed Renuka for a four and only bettered it with a big six on the following delivery.

In WPL 2024, Kapp scored 79 runs with the bat in seven games, while she took 11 wickets and emerged as one of the key contributors behind Delhi Capitals' run to the finals.
Soon after hitting Renuka for a four and a six, Kapp fell prey to Asha Sobhana and departed to the pavilion with a score of 24 (39).
