[Watch] Shaheen Afridi Rattles Bangladesh Top Order As Usama Mir Takes A Blinder

Riding on Shaheen Afridi's sensational opening spell, Pakistan got off to a flying start to their ongoing World Cup clash against Bangladesh in Kolkata. After getting rid of Tanzid Hasan for a duck, the ace speedster dismissed Najmul Hossain Shanto, as Usama Mir grabbed a stunning catch. 

After opting to bat first on a drying surface, Bangladesh had a massive setback, with Afridi dismissing Tanzid on the fifth ball of the innings. However, their problems aggravated very soon, as the experienced campaigner sent Shanto back to the hut, courtesy of a spectacular catch from Usama Mir. 

It was a full length delivery around the middle and leg stump, as Shanto played a well-timed flick shot. However, Mir, who dropped a dolly off Afridi's bowling against Australia, didn't commit the same mistake this time, holding on to a sharp diving catch at short midwicket. 

Afridi, with these two early wickets, placed himself among the highest wicket-takers in the 2023 World Cup. After Shanto's departure, ex-captain Mushfiqur Rahim joined the middle to bat alongside Litton Das. 

As of writing, Bangladesh are 9 for two, with Rahim and Litton batting on 1* and 4*, respectively.
