In their ongoing World Cup clash against Afghanistan, Sri Lanka got off to a dream start in the second half, as Dilshan Madushanka castled Rahmanullah Gurbaz with an absolute ripper. Bowling first, Afghanistan restricted Sri Lanka to a modest 241-run total, riding on an exceptional bowling spell from Fazalhaq Farooqi. However, they had a shaky start to the innings, with Madushanka cleaning up Gurbaz with a lethal in-swinger.

Bowling the first over of the Afghan innings, Madushanka started with three consecutive dot balls to put Gurbaz under pressure. He followed it up with a dream delivery, leaving the Afghan batter shell-shocked.

It was a length delivery, which swung prodigiously back into Gurbaz, breaching his defence and uprooting the middle stump.

The dismissal showcased Madushanka's incredible calibre with the new ball for the umpteenth time on the big stage.

After Gurbaz departed for a duck, Rahmat Shah joined the middle to steady the Afghan ship alongside Ibrahim Zadran. Both batters have looked a bit tentative in the middle despite hitting a couple of glorious boundaries.

As of writing, Afghanistan are 13 for one in 3.3 overs, with Gurbaz and Rahmat batting on 8* and 5*, respectively.
