Wrist-spin bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan once again proved on Tuesday night as he is one of the best fielders of the modern era as he plucked a stunner at square-leg to send back Afghanistan southpaw, Hashmatullah Shahidi.

On a pitch where the Afghanistani trio of Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, Rashid Khan, and Mohammad Nabi spun a web around the Pakistani batsmen, the likes of Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi got the ball to fly off the deck.

It all happened during the 4th over of Afghanistan's run-chase, when Naseem dished out a pacy short delivery to rush Shahidi into playing a pull shot.

The batsmen obliged with a pull shot in front of the square, but he didn't take into account the athletic skills of Shadab, who lept towards his left and managed to pluck the ball out of thin air. He did fumble once but ensured that it was safely pouched once he landed on the ground.

The dismissal meant that Afghanistan's run-chase went from bad to worse as they slipped to 4/3.

The slide did not stop there as Haris Rauf too chipped in with a wicket on the very first delivery of his spell, leaving Afghanistan reeling at 18/4.

Earlier, on a sluggish track, Pakistan huffed and puffed its way to 201/10 in the 48th over, thanks largely to a half-century from opener Imam-ul-Haq (61 off 94) and handy contributions from Shadab Khan (39 off 50) and Naseem Shah (18* off 27).

Mujeeb was the pick of the bowlers for Afghanistan as he removed both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, eventually finishing with figures of 3/33 in 10 overs.

At the time of writing, Afghanistan were 29/4 after 12 overs, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Nabi at the crease.
