One of the favourite pastimes of millions of Indians growing up was World Wide Wrestling or WWE, which in the late 1990s and early 2000s boomed exponentially. Out of favour, Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has now suggested that former captain Virat Kohli could have been a WWE wrestler if not for a cricketer while picking an alternative career for the star batter.

Kohli, 34, is considered to be a legend of the game having amassed 25,582 runs in 501 internationals for India with 76 centuries and 131 fifties across formats.

As quoted by CricToday, Kumar while speaking at CEAT Awards on Monday evening, felt that Kohli could easily be a WWE star if not a cricketer.

Here's what Kumar said

“He would have been a wrestler if he was not a cricketer.”

Kohli is quite aggressive and has a magnetic charm about himself on the field, making him a perfect fix in entertainment wrestling.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad player further revealed how Kohli thinks about himself being the best bowler in the Indian side.

“Virat Kohli thinks he’s the best bowler in the team. We’re always scared when he bowls as he could get injured due to his bowling action.”

Interestingly, India ODI skipper Rohit Sharma has hinted about utilising himself and the former captain as bowlers in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, which starts from August 30.

Team India begin their campaign from September 2, and face arch-rivals Pakistan in Group A encounter at Pallekele.
