Sanju Samson is known for his calm demeanour, but in the 14th match of Indian Premier League 2024 between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, the RR skipper did lost his calm for a moment when he was unhappy with third umpire's decision to not let RR retain their review after his clever DRS call.

The incident happened on the fifth ball of the 11th over and Ravi Ashwin was the bowler with Piyush Chawla taking strike for Mumbai Indians. It was a full delivery down the leg side and Chawla tried to work it towards the leg side.

However, he missed it and Sanju behind the stumps collected the ball. The RR skipper though appealed loudly for caught behind but the umpire did not respond positively and signalled wide.

Sanju cleverly took the DRS in return as he knew that the ball has brushed the batters pads and it is not a wide. The Ball Tracking rolled in and it showed clearly that the ball is not wide and it brushed Chawla's pad, so the call of wide was taken back and it was given as a dot ball.

Sanju though was not happy because the official signal was that RR have lost the review. The umpires initially thought that Samson has taken the DRS for a caught behind appeal but Sanju went straightaway to the umpire and explained his logic and in the end decision ended in RR's favour with the visitors retaining their review.
