Sanju Samson and his selection in the Indian team has always been the talk of the town. There are many who feel that Sanju does not get enough chances in national team to prove his worth while their are others who consider him an overrated irresponsible batter. However, he has proved his critics wrong yet again in the ODI format with a fighting fifty in the third ODI on a pitch that is quite difficult to bat, against a quality South African bowling unit.
He walked out to bat at number 3 after the wicket of debutant Rajat Patidar and started in his usual fluent self, hitting some wonderful boundaries. However, Sai Sudharsan at the other end fell soon and captain KL Rahul gave good company to Sanju Samson before he eventually departed on 21.

The wicket of KL Rahul forced Sanju to get into a cautious mode but he still kept the scoreboard ticking, even though Tilak Varma struggled at the other end. Sanju eventually got to fifty in 66 balls with four boundaries in it and India need him to carry on and get a big score.
