Sai Sudharsan, off the back of successive half-centuries against South Africa in the ongoing three-match series, briefly towered over in-form Proteas speedster Lizaad Williams with a majestic cover-drive at Paarl’s Boland Park.
Turning up for India in their series-deciding third ODI against the hosts, Sudharsan notched up his first boundary during the fourth over of the Indian innings, after opening partner and debutant Rajat Patidar had already negated South Africa’s new-ball threat with sublime strokes in the initial overs of the contest.

Sai Sudharsan, after witnessing a couple of delightful strokes from debutant and opening partner Rajat Patidar from the other end, packed a boundary off his own during the fourth over of the Indian innings against South Africa in their series-deciding third ODI.
Without taking much stride forward, the elegant left-hander whacked Lizaad Williamson for a majestic cover-drive to get going in the Indian innings.

Unfortunately for Sai Sudharsan and the Indian team, the 22-year-old failed to convert his opening start to a delightful score as he was trapped in front of his stumps by South Africa’s in-form new-ball pacer Nandre Burger inside the opening powerplay.
The batting prodigy was dismissed for a 16-ball 10, shortly after Rajat Patidar’s untimely departure as India slumped to 49-2 in their 7.3 overs.
Earlier in the series, Sudharsan celebrated his ODI debut with a match-winning half-century at Johannesburg and scored another 62 runs in team’s subsequent defeat at Port Elizabeth.
