Promising Sri Lankan batter Sadeera Samarawickrama starred with the bat in his side's second World Cup game against Pakistan, amassing a glorious hundred in Hyderabad. Coming at number four, the stylish batter clobbered the Pakistani bowlers to all corners of the ground, recording his first-ever ton in the ICC World Cup.

After completing his century, Samarawickrama recreated Virat Kohli's iconic celebration, which the Indian batter did just after smashing a fighting hundred at the Optus cricket ground in Perth, Australia.

Samarawickrama played a hook shot along the ground and took a single to complete his century in this match. After reaching the non-striker's end, the Lankan batter raised his bat and gestured  how he let his bat do the talking throughout the knock.

After opting to bat first, Sri Lanka had a disastrous start to their innings, losing Kusal Perera early. However, the dynamic duo of Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka steadied the ship for the Lankans, adding 102 runs for the second wicket. After Nissanka departed for a glorious 51, Mendis and Samarawickrama took on the Pakistani bowlers, helping the Lankans post a mammoth total.

As of writing, Sri Lanka are 343 for seven, with Wellalage and Maheesh Theekshana batting on 10* and 0*, respectively.
