Riding on a blistering ton from Dawid Malan and scintillating fifties from Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root, England have occupied the driving seat in their ongoing World Cup game against Bangladesh in Dharamsala. After the Tigers opted to bowl first, England set the tone for a massive first innings score. On his way through a belligerent hundred, Malan also attained two phenomenal milestones as mentioned below.

The stylish southpaw became the fastest batter to score six ODI hundreds, achieving the feat in only 23 innings. In this process, he surpassed Pakistan's Imam-ul-Haq, who took 27 innings to unlock the milestone.

Talking about the others on this list, Upul Tharanga, Babar Azam and Hashim Amla occupy the third, fourth and fifth place, respectively, taking 29, 32 and 34 innings to score six ODI centuries.

Added to that, he also became the oldest English player to smash a hundred in the ODI World Cup.

Bangladesh's decision to bowl first proved to be a nightmare, as England clobbered them all around the park. After Bairstow got out for 52, Malan and Joe Root continued the onslaught, powering the Three lions to 250 at a rapid pace.

As of writing, England are firmly placed at 262 for one in 37 overs, with Malan and Root batting on 136* and 69*, respectively.
