Featuring flamboyant shots, Saim Ayub has the audacity to engage the crowd. Due to that, the 21-year-old was the talk of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) last year.

And now, Ayub keeps on doing the good work this year as well, and a shot that he played against Sikandar Raza on Sunday evening while representing Peshawar Zalmi against Lahore Qalandars spoke volumes.

While facing Raza during the seventh over of Zalmi’s innings, Ayub saw a ball pitched at good length coming towards the middle and off stump. The stylish batter sunk on one knee, and went for a slog sweep for a huge six over deep mid-wicket. The timing was so perfect that as soon as the ball hit his pad, it was bound to clear the ropes.

Having been asked to bat first, Babar Azam-led Zalmi are on a roll, racing to 119 runs without losing any wickets after 12.5 overs. While Babar, the former Pakistan skipper, is batting on 47* off 34 balls, Ayub is being the aggressor, batting on 66* off 43 balls.

Raza, meanwhile, conceded 20 off his first two overs.
