In a heated moment, Sabbir Rahman’s bat slipped out of his hands while facing Aliss Al Islam during a recent match of the BPL 2024-25 season. The bowler later teased the batter by aborting his stride, leading to a dramatic clash.
The Bangladesh Premier League is currently happening in full swing. In a clash between Dhaka Capitals and Chittagong Kings, a cold war broke out between Sabbir Rahman and Aliss Al Islam. Dhaka Capitals were batting first, and Sabbir led his team to a convincing total.

Meanwhile, in the 15th over of the first inning, Aliss bowled a good-length delivery outside the off-stump, inviting Sabbir to swing hard.
Sabbir Rahman obliged with a full-blooded shot, but instead of connecting with the ball, the bat slipped out of his hands and flew in the air. He missed the ball completely and lost his grip on the bat as well.
However, tensions rose when Aliss Al Islam deliberately pulled out of his delivery stride on the next delivery. His actions, often used by bowlers to disrupt a batter’s rhythm, raised a few eyebrows.
The situation escalated further on the very next delivery when Sabbir Rahman responded by pulling out at the last moment to fix his bat’s grip. This tit-for-tat move added a dramatic touch to the eventful over.
However, Sabbir Rahman had a last laugh as he smashed two back-to-back sixes as he stole 14 runs from that over.
Dhaka Capitals ended up with a total of 177/5 before Chittagong Kings chased it down with ease. Usman Khan’s half-century and Shamim Hossain’s blazing 30 off 14 balls helped the Kings register a seven-wicket victory with three balls to spare.
