[Watch] Rovman Powell Tears Sam Curran Apart, Smacks 30 Runs Off One Over

The ongoing tour of the West Indies for England's premier all-rounder Sam Curran has been quite a mixed bag, where the player's bowling has come under severe battering.

In the second T20I of the ongoing five-T20I series, Curran became the focal point in the first innings, where the all-rounder's second over shifted the momentum in the Windies' favour.

Coming onto bowl the 16th over, Curran squared off against West Indies captain Rovman Powell, who looked well settled on run-a-ball 22.

The first delivery, unfortunately, went for a boundary off the outside edge; however, what followed was carnage. Powell slammed the second and third balls for consecutive sixes, one over long-off and then mid-wicket.

Under pressure, Curran bowled a wide, which was followed by two successive thumping sixes over mid-wicket, and straight down the ground; the latter brought up Powell's 27-ball fifty as well.

The T20 World Cup 2022 winner then bowled a wide ball and finally managed to have the last laugh, getting Powell for 50; however, the damage had been done.

This was the second-most expensive over by an England bowler in T20Is, after Stuart Broad's famous 36-run over against India in the 2007 T20 World Cup, where Yuvraj Singh hit six sixes in the former Three Lions' over.

With the bat, Curran somewhat canceled out his expensive spell, scoring his maiden T20I fifty, which sadly came in a losing cause as England failed to chase 177 runs.
