Rohit Sharma and his ability to create destruction with the bat right from the onset caught the imagination of cricket fans in World Cup 2023, but the same form has not been evident in the T20 World Cup 2024. 

However, against Bangladesh, he was looking in great mood and smashed 23 off 10 balls, but in a bid to hit another one over the park, he mistimed one on the 11th delivery and paid a heavy price.

It was the fourth over of the match and Rohit Sharma had hit six and a four already in the first three balls. Rohit made room on the fourth delivery, but Shakib followed him and bowled it fuller in length too. 

The Indian captain went for a big slog though, and got a huge top edge. The ball went to the right and behind the cover fielder, but Jaker Ali kept his eyes on the ball running to his right and completed a fine catch to hand Bangladesh their first wicket.
