In a massive moment during Day 4 of the fourth Test in Ranchi, Indian captain Rohit Sharma threw away his wicket and put India's chase in jeopardy against England.

IND vs ENG: Rohit Sharma's rush of blood led to stumping

The dismissal occurred at the very beginning of the 25th over when England's bowler, Tom Hartley, sharply adjusted his length upon seeing Rohit advance down the pitch. Rohit, attempting to counter, was outfoxed by the turn, leading to a straightforward caught behind by England's wicketkeeper, Ben Foakes.

Rohit Sharma's exit after scoring a commendable 55 off 81 balls, a knock filled with five boundaries and a six, marked a significant setback for India.

His innings, which was highlighted with great defense and calculated aggression, came to an end at a moment when India was already reeling from the loss of Yashasvi Jaiswal just a few overs earlier.

The departure of Rohit and Jaiswal was quickly followed by the dismissal of Rajat Patidar for a duck, further deepening India's crisis. Patidar's exit, in what has been a challenging debut series for him, left India struggling at 100/3 after 27 overs.

At this crucial juncture, Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja are at the crease, tasked with the difficult challenge of steering India towards the target of 192 runs on a turning track.

With 77 more runs needed to secure a victory and clinch the series 3-1, with one game remaining, the duo's partnership is crucial for India's aspirations. On the other hand, England will be eyeing an opportunity to level the series 2-2 and set the stage for a thrilling finale in the series.
