As the Pakistan Super League 2024 progresses, Peshawar Zalmi is gearing up for a crucial clash against Islamabad United in Match 13 of the tournament, scheduled for Monday, February 26, at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.

PSL 2024: Peshawar Zalmi has got back to winning ways

After a shaky start to their campaign, losing the first two matches, Peshawar Zalmi has made a commendable comeback, securing victories against Multan Sultans and, most recently, the defending champions, Lahore Qalandars. The team will now aim to extend its winning streak by overcoming Islamabad in the upcoming match.

The focus will be on captain Babar Azam and Saim Ayub, whose remarkable synergy on the field has been a game-changer for Zalmi.

Their exceptional 136-run partnership in the match against Lahore Qalandars not only showcased their batting skills but also set the stage for what fans can expect against Islamabad United as the duo will open the innings.

Ayub's versatility was further highlighted as he took to the bowling, conceding just three runs in the first over that he bowled.

Zalmi's batting depth is further bolstered by the presence of Mohammad Haris, Asif Ali, Rovman Powell, and Paul Walter in the middle order.

Powell, in particular, has been in scintillating form, having blazed to a 20-ball 46 in the last game, affirming his role as the team's finisher.

Behind the stumps, Haseebullah Khan's role as wicketkeeper remains vital.

The team's pace attack will be spearheaded by Luke Wood and Naveen-ul Haq, despite their costly spells in recent outings. Wood and Naveen's performance will be under scrutiny, especially with the potential inclusion of West Indies' Shamar Joseph, who could replace either bowler to bolster the pace department.

The bowling lineup is expected to retain Salman Irshad and spinner Arif Yaqoob, both of whom have proven their mettle in recent matches. Their consistent performances have made them important to the team's bowling attack.
