'Inko Umpire's Call Dena Hi Nahi Hai'- Rohit Sharma's Remark On Umpires Goes Viral

Technology has become an indispensable ally in Test cricket, where every run counts and each decision can turn the tide of a match. The Decision Review System (DRS) was introduced to minimise human error in umpiring, but it often becomes a focal point for drama and debate.

Rohit Sharma expressed his frustration over Umpire's call

Such has been the case during the ongoing fourth Test match between India and England in Ranchi, where Indian captain Rohit Sharma's calls for DRS on several LBW appeals against English batters resulted in a series of Umpire's call decisions that narrowly favoured the visitors.

This sequence of events led to an unforgettable moment caught on the stump microphone, where Rohit's frustration humorously spilled over.

"Yeh decide karke aaye hain ki inko umpire's call dena hi nahi hain” (It seems they've decided not to give umpire's call at all), quipped Rohit.

Meanwhile, despite India being bowled out for 307 early on Day 3 and conceding a lead of 46 runs, the Indian bowlers, led by the seasoned Ravichandran Ashwin, staged a staggering comeback.

Ashwin, with his exceptional figures of 5/51, not only secured his 35th five-wicket haul in Test cricket, matching the legendary Anil Kumble's tally but also surpassed Kumble's record of 350 wickets on Indian soil, becoming the leading wicket-taker in Tests in India.

As the match progressed into its decisive stages, India's response to England's challenge has been formidable. Tasked with chasing a target of 192, the Indian openers unleashed an aggressive batting display, reminiscent of England's high-octane 'Bazball' approach.

As Stumps were called on Day 3, India raced to 40/0 in just eight overs, laying a solid foundation for the chase ahead and needing another 152 runs as they moved into Day 4 with confidence.
