Indian captain Rohit Sharma plundered a number of T20I records through his side’s emphatic Super Over win against Afghanistan in Bengaluru. Completing a 3-0 sweep over their guests, Sharma levelled with former skipper MS Dhoni to become India’s joint-most successful T20I captain in history.

The dashing opening batsman also won the ‘Player of the Match’ award, as he shaped his career-best T20I score in the game through his unbeaten 121.

Apparently, Sharma also enjoyed his share of pre-game fun as he was reunited with his ex-national and former IPL teammate Pragyan Ojha considering the latter was present at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium as one of the expert analysts for the official broadcasters. The active Indian skipper was spotted surprising Ojha with a slap on the back before the two broke out in laughter in each other’s company.

Rohit Sharma and former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha started out their IPL journey together for the now-defunct Deccan Chargers franchise back during the inaugural chapter of the tournament in 2008. While the two cricketers were part of Deccan Chargers’ title-winning run in IPL 2009, they also lifted the coveted trophy together for Mumbai Indians in 2013 and 2015.

With Ojha making his final international outing in 2013 and playing the last of his IPL matches in 2015, he eventually announced his retirement from all formats in February 2020 before taking up commentary duties.

Moments prior to India’s third T20I match against Afghanistan in January 2024 in Bengaluru, the 37-year-old was spotted reuniting with his ex-teammate Rohit Sharma in a hilarious manner. Upon spotting Ojha, Sharma jokingly slapped the former Indian spinner on his back before the two broke out in laughter near the boundary line of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
