In one of the most exciting and extraordinary evenings, the Indian cricket team defeated Afghanistan to secure a commanding clean sweep, and the star of the game, the Indian captain Rohit Sharma, shared snippets of the game on his social media handle.

In a bold move, Rohit Sharma opted to bat first to embrace a challenge, but it backfired shortly after as India lost four wickets in powerplay. Fortunately, the Indians captain, who, in fact, had two ducks to his name in the series, stepped up on the right occasion.

Rohit built a 109-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Rinku Singh, who showcased resilience for a change. Later, fireworks in death overs helped India post a mammoth total of 212 runs on board, which proved to be not good enough on Chinnaswamy’s wicket.

Afghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz put up a 93-run opening stand. The middle order capitalized on the momentum, and Afghanistan nearly chased down the target but fell short of one run, thus resulting in a super over.

However, in an extraordinary change of fate, the first super over stayed tied as Rohit Sharma, despite hammering two sixes, went off to let Rinku Singh come in as a runner. But a miscue from Jaiswal’s end resulted in another super over.

This time around, Rohit Sharma once again donned the pads and stepped up with Rinku Singh. India managed to get a mere 11 runs on board. But the Indian skipper played a masterstroke by handing over the ball to spinner Ravi Bishnoi. The wrist-spinner exceeded expectations by clipping two wickets off the first three deliveries to guide his team to a clean sweep.

Meanwhile, a delighted Rohit Sharma took to his social media handle to share his favorite snippets of the game. The skipper shared pictures from the first inning wherein he slammed a record hundred for his side and also attached a team photo with the trophy at the end.

With that, India ends an eventful series and will regroup for the extended Test series against England, which will go on floors exactly a week from now.
