Jake Fraser-McGurk has taken the IPL 2024 by storm. After smashing a 15-ball fifty against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, a couple of days ago, the hard-hitting Aussie batter looked at his imperial best against Mumbai Indians as well.

The DC opener, who came in as a replacement player, smashed yet another 15-ball half-century, this time against the attack of Mumbai Indians. The carnage started in the first over of Luke Wood, which went for 19 runs.

He didn't even spare Jasprit Bumrah, and took him down in his first over. It was expected that Fraser-McGurk will play cautiously against MI's best bowler, but he showed no respect and tonked him for a couple of boundaries to disturb Bumrah's lines and lengths.

The MI camp panicked and despite trying several bowling combinations, nothing worked as the Aussie batter brought up his fifty in no time.

The carnage continued post the milestone as Hardik Pandya, who brought himself into the attack was blasted for a couple of big shots. At one stage, he was batting at 78 off 24, and was all set to breach the record of fastest IPL hundred. However, the veteran, Piyush Chawla got his prized wicket and broke the opening stand.

Chawla's shorter delivery was pulled away by McGurk, but he found the fielder at deep mid wicket. MI were ecstatic, but Fraser-McGurk looked dejected as he missed out on a brilliant hundred.
