Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has had a memorable outing in the ongoing Asia Cup Super 4 fixture against Sri Lanka. Continuing his dream run in the tournament, the stylish batter from Mumbai ensured a great start for India in this game, hammering the Lankan bowlers to all parts of the ground. 

After India opted to bat on Colombo's dry deck, Sharma and his opening partner Shubman Gill adopted a positive approach. While Gill gained confidence from a couple of delightful shots, Sharma took on the Lankan spearhead Kasun Rajitha, hitting for a few picturesque boundaries. 

Regarded as one of the finest openers, Sharma got off the mark with a glorious cover drive before completing 10000 ODI runs with a humongous six straight down the ground. 

It was a fuller delivery around the middle and leg stump, as Sharma went for an on-the-up lofted shot over the bowler's head. He timed it beautifully, as the ball sailed over the fence for a huge six. 

While Sharma raced to his fifty, Gill, unfortunately, couldn't convert his start, being castled by an absolute ripper from Lankan spinner Dunith Wellalage. As of writing, India are comfortably placed at 90 for one in 13 overs, with Sharma and Virat Kohli batting on 52* and 3*, respectively.
