Rohit Sharma scored a fantastic century on the opening day of the third Test match and looked set for a lot more, only to be derailed by a short delivery from Mark Wood. Rohit Sharma scored 131 off 196 balls with 14 fours and three sixes.

Rohit Sharma displayed great composure and skills after India lost three early wickets and were reduced to 33-3. Rohit took some time initially but did not let go away weak deliveries as along with Jadeja, took India to safer shores.

Rohit departed though on the third delivery of the 64th over. It was a quick short short delivery bowled on middle and Rohit could not resist his temptation to go for his favorite pull shot. The ball hurried on him though and went off the higher part of his blade to mid-wicket where Ben Stokes took an easy catch.

It was a big wicket for England as they managed to break the 204-run stand for the fourth wicket. Mark Wood has been the pick of the bowlers for England and has picked three wickets out of the initial four wickets.
