Rohit Sharma, also known as "Hitman," never fails to dazzle with his pull shots and boundaries. The Indian skipper smashed his first half-century of the T20 World Cup 2024 in their first fixture against Ireland at the Nassau County Stadium.

India won the toss and opted to bowl first against the Irishmen. The Indian bowlers took charge, restricting Ireland to 96 runs after claiming all 10 wickets.

During India's innings, Rohit Sharma opened the batting along with Virat Kohli. Sharma took no chances in chasing down the target, but Virat Kohli departed early, scoring just 1 run off 5 balls.

Rohit Sharma proved his mettle and, in the 10th over of the match, he smashed Mark Adair for a four to reach his first fifty of the tournament. The skipper raised his bat and acknowledged the applause from his teammates.

The ball was a slow full toss outside the off stump. Standing tall, Sharma pulled it across the line, thumping the ball into the midwicket fence for a dominating half-century.

Later in the game, Rohit Sharma walked off the field retired hurt, seen holding his right shoulder. Despite the injury, he reached significant milestones, scoring 4000 runs in T20Is and 1000 runs in T20 World Cups.
