India's chase against Ireland was halted as unfortunately Virat Kohli departed cheaply at the hands of Mark Adair during their tournament opener at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.

During the third over, Adair bowled a short of a length delivery wide and outside the off stump. Virat Kohli could've easily let this one go however he charged down the track and threw his hands inside out. 

However, he only got the bottom half of the bat. The ball travelled at a good pace behind the square in the off side. Ben White stationed at deep third man moved a couple of yards to his right and took the catch in a jiffy, thereby dismissing Kohli for just a single run.

Talking about the first innings, the bowling department really hammered the Irishmen with their stupendous bowling display. From Hardik Pandya to Jasprit Bumrah to Mohd. Siraj almost all the bowlers managed to scalp at least a wicket thereby restricting the opposition to 96 runs only.

At the time of writing, India are at 39/1 with skipper Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant out in the middle.
