After stumps on day 2 of the first Test between India and Bangladesh at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India are 81/3 and have a lead of 308 runs. The Rohit Sharma-led side are in a commanding position in the match, but the top-order's dismal form is a sign of concern.

A lot occurred on day 2, as India lost four quick wickets that wrapped up their innings for 376 runs. In reply, Bangladesh tumbled for just 149 runs courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah's four-wicket haul as he also completed his 400th international wicket.

Expectations were high from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who failed with the bat in the first innings. However, the veterans failed to turn things around as Rohit departed for just 5 (7), while Kohli was trapped in front of the wickets for 17 (37).

It was a big brain-fade moment for Virat as he returned to the pavilion after a long discussion with Shubman Gill without taking a review. Controversy erupted after the replay showed a big spike from the bat.

Rohit And Gill React To Kohli's Brainfade Moment

The internet went into a frenzy after Virat's brain fade moment. Meanwhile, on-field reactions are also something not to miss out on. Firstly, Rohit Sharma, who was sitting in the dressing room, was shocked by what he just witnessed, and his animated gestures took over the internet.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill was also in disbelief at what happened on the field. On the other hand, on-field umpire Richard Kettleborough gave a slight smirk that has now become the talk of the town.

Virat Kohli's Failure In the First Innings

In the first innings, Virat scored just 6 (6) and fell prey to sensational Hasan Mahmud, who eventually registered a five-wicket haul and became the first Bangladeshi seamer to take a five-wicket haul against India in India.
