The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has organized a 'connection camp' for the top-cricketers of the country, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan. The camp will take place on September 23, and will take place keeping in mind the upcoming Test series against England.

The camp comes up one day after the final pool match of the Pakistan One-Day Cup, taking place in Faisalabad. Interestingly, the connection camp will also be attended by the two Pakistan coaches - Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten. The duo will arrive in Lahore on September 22, and will meet the senior players. The vision of the camp is to prepare players for the upcoming challenges, which includes the England Tests and the Champions Trophy.

The primary objective is to make sure that everyone is on the same page and are moving towards the direction of achieving success for Pakistan cricket.

Kirsten outlines Pakistan's roadmap

Earlier this week, Kirsten conducted a meeting with PCB heads and the mentors of the Champions Cup. He highlighted that there needs to be a proper-game style that the Pakistan team should adopt, and the coach further asserted that while individual brilliance can win you a couple of matches, teamwork is important to achieve success at the highest-level.

Pakistan have had a disastrous 2024

The team suffered a humiliating series defeat Down Under against the Aussies. Following which, they entered the T20 World Cup as one of the favourites, but disaster struck as the Babar Azam led side crashed out of the group stage.

More humiliation occurred during the recently concluded Test series against Bangladesh. The tigers inflicted a 2-0 series whitewashed and Pakistan slumped to 8th position in the ICC rankings.

With the England series coming up, the likes of Babar and Shaheen will be looking to get some form as a tricky phase is on the cards for Pakistan.
